The Rio Blanco County Historical Society will hold its second quarterly membership meeting on Sunday, April 16th, at 1 p.m. at the Heritage Culture Center in Meeker. A potluck taco bar will be served, and attendees are encouraged to bring taco fixings or something to share. There will also be a quilt raffle at 2 p.m. Tickets for the raffle are $5 each or five for $20 and can be purchased at the museum. Additionally, Barone Middle School History Day competitors will give a presentation. All are welcome to attend.

The Meeker Area Mountain Bike Association will celebrate Trails Day by preparing the Meeker trails for summer hiking and biking on Saturday, April 29th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Sunday, April 30th, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. All ages are welcome to volunteer, and the event will be held at the Ute Park trailhead on Hill Street. Afterward, participants will meet at Smoking River Brewing Co. Volunteers are asked to bring water, sunscreen, gloves, and eye protection. Tools will be provided by ERBM and BLM.

The Rio Blanco County Historical Society will host a traditional May Day event on Sunday, April 30th, at 2 p.m. in the White River Museum courtyard. Nominations for this year's May Day Queen are now open. Contact RBCHS secretary Emily Mohr at emily.mohr7717@yahoo.com or call/text 970-930-5619 for more information, queen nominations, to donate a pie, or with any questions.

The Clerk and Recorder and Motor Vehicle offices in Meeker and Rangely will be closed on May 3rd and 4th for mandatory election training. Regular business hours will resume on May 5th, so please plan accordingly.

The Meeker Library Book Club will meet on Monday, May 8th at 1 p.m. to discuss "Wicked Western Slope: Mayhem, Mischief, and Murder in Colorado" by D.A. Brockett. Everyone is welcome to join in the discussion.

The RBC Pioneers Association is hosting "A Country Barn Dance" on Saturday, June 3rd at the Fairfield Center. The event will feature Dave Main & Friends, and registration forms are now available online at rbcpioneers.org or at the Meeker and Rangely Chambers of Commerce and the Rangely Library. The next planning committee meeting will be held on April 17th at 6 p.m. at the Heritage Culture Center.

Registration is now open for the Colorado Cattlemen's Association's 2023 Annual Convention, which will be held on June 19th-21st at the Steamboat Grand in Steamboat Springs.
